I have not used a site like this before but I am not to old to learn. I came by an old Savage Mod 110 F in 7 mm Mag, Serial No. 38245. I called the Savage Customer Service and was informed that their records only went back to 1995 and based on the serial # of my gun there was no way they could help me. It has an external floor plate but it's not hinged. I want to get a new stock for it or find out what I can do to reduce the recoil since it kicks a mule. Shoots 1.5 to 2 inch groups at 200 yards all day but just to much for my old body. Help!

Welcome.

Might want to ask this question in the Vintage Centerfire Rifles (http://www.savageshooters.com/forumdisplay.php?70-Vintage-Centerfire-Rifles) area. More people with knowledge of those rifles are likely to see it and be able to help.

Thanks Brother CPO. I retired on May 31 1981. Once I get this beast tamed I am going to work up some loads that will do the job but not kill my body. The folks at Barnes sent me some load sheets via email but didn't know when the gun was manufactured or what to do about the recoil. Regards, FreddieB CPO-USN (Ret)
