Hey guys, new member here. I recently purchased a 24" heavy barrel 10fcp-sr. I took it out to 200 yards but wasn't happy with the results, partially because the eye relief was all jacked up and I didn't bring my tools with me. Il

I was shooting federal 168 match and wasn't happy but I'm leaning to improper scope alignment. I'm going to reload for it. What do you guys recommend? I'm going to shooting 1,000 yards with it soon. I picked up some 178 hornady amax. Also going to grab some 175 SMKs.

As she sits now:
Viper pst 6-24
Warne rings
MDT lss XL chassis
Magpul prs stock
Harris bipod
Forget who makes the brake

What exactly was the reason you weren't happy? Poor accuracy or just the dislike of the scope alignment.

I'm going to say poor accuracy due to poor scope alignment. Haven't had a chance to try out new alignment and chassis but I'm sure I'll be happy with it

I am currently shooting the 168 TMK that Sierra came out with. I'm not satisfied with the velocity I'm getting out of it, so I'm going to switch to the 155gr Berger hybrid.

The accuracy problem could also be the action is over or under torqued in the chassis. I had the same problem with two different 308's that didnt shoot 168 gold medal match. I did a torque test and both shot great around 50 inch pounds with two different chassis systems. If the eye relief doesn't fix the problem try different torque values.

Are you handloading? If so try the Hornady 178 BTHP. It has a .530 BC and is very accurate. You should easily get them over 2700fps with the 24" barrel. They are 2690fps pushed by 44grns of Varget from my 20". The AMAX is a good bullet as well. I have shot them to 1350 yards in matches.

When you reload, get the 178 gr ELD-X bullets. They are G1 .535 vs 178 A-Max G1 .495. I shoot the 178 XLD out of my 10T 308, 5R 24 inch barrel with varget and average 2720 fps chrono'd. They shoot awesome.
BTW, sweet rifle!
