Go with Hornady 178 gr ELD ammo. You wont regret it. Will buck the wind better at longer ranges.

What do you want to use it for?

Since this is about the 5th or 6th ammo related question you've posted that had to be moved from the 110/10 series forum to the proper forum, please take a minute to become familiar with all of the forums and their relative topics so that in the future, your threads can be posted without further moderation.
Thanks!

Wow.

About the 150, purpose and desired or expected results are important here. It looks like you are just beginning and you are trying to make sense of it all. Some questions you might ask yourself. Are you reloading? Are you speaking of a specific bullet or just the 150 class? Are you just having fun trying to hit a rock or can, maybe a target? Deer, varmint or predator hunting. What is your twist?

Here is one way you might pose your question. "I just purchased a Savage F T/R. I think it has a 1:12 twist. I will be shooting mid range competition at a local range. I have been looking at the SMK 155 Palma bullet. Does anyone have any advice for Powder and charge weight for that bullet. If anyone had success with another bullet in this rifle I would like to hear your thoughts and opinions."

More information will get you the response you're after without a whole pile of responses asking you questions trying to figure out what you need to know. Often people will pass you post over due to you not knowing what you want to do.

Gave the 168smk a go years back. I found 42.8 4064 to do well thru my 24 1-10 tube. Good luck.
Simple question. ......simple answer.

Sierra 150 grain Pro Hunters, Federal 210 primers and a moderate charge of Varget in a Lapua case gave me half inch groups. This was out of a 22 inch varmint contour. Bloodied this load on a couple does this past season. The first was head shot at about 135 and didn't go anywhere. The second was about 200 yards away with the wind gusting to 25 or 30 mph. Didn't trust a head shot. She stood broadside for a little too long, so I shot her behind the shoulder. She ran bow legged about 20 yards into the brush and pilled up.

These are some accurate little bullets that are cheap compared to the SMKs. At 250 to 300 yards, you probably won't be able to see any advantage to the higher BCs of the SMKs.
