What did you get for the PRS? Thought about selling mine. Have tried using a hex wrench on a star hole myself. Not a good idea. Almost stripped. Can't wait to see it all together. Does look strange when its apart. Post a close up of the stock if you can. Let me know the part number as when I checked to see if it would fit mine, was told no. But the PRS fits great.

I got 150 for it. I was trying to hurry and get it put back together over lunch. The original cadex fore end just slipped around the rail. This one has a hole in it that has to go under a raised notch under the rail. So that shot my fast switch out all to hell. So I stopped and put the but stock on to accomplish something. It's probably a good thing any how, because this forces me to set the eye relief in relation to the lop the way it should be in stead of keeping it where it was and adapting to it. Also, the way the scope, vortex vyper, was sitting in the rings, it was very hard to see the parallax. I would have to completely come off the rifle and come around to look at it. Depending on how the eye relief works out and where the rings fall maybe I can fix that. Part of that is a mix of lazy combined with fear of not getting it set back as good as it is now. I'll post up some pics when I get it together.

Hope you dont mind. I cant seem to get to sleep so I will post up my pic of my cadex re build here. Ill recap. Had the prs but stock and standard rifle forend. Swapped out for competition forend and cadex skeleltonized but stock. I couldnt seem to get a good enough cheek weld on the prs. Thas is NOT a problem now.

My only gripe. There are two hard plastic brace peices with all kinds of paterns in them. They are suppose to tie the for end and body together. Well some design change causing the originals not to fit. There is no telling how long I will have to wait on fabrication, as this has been a problem in the past. I plan to take them to work with me and use a dental drill with a diamond drill point to reshape it so that it will work. Mean while Ill also like to get the right ones. Ehrn yskinh ogg yhr vsfrc tsil, I snapped off one of the torx screw drivers. So plan b. use a torch to heat up the screws then they came right out. That was clolse.

Looks awesome. So that butt stock replaced your PRS? If so, can you give me that part number? Will contact cadex to see if that will fit mine. I had issues with those 2 pieces. They will work. Slow down, and try again. Get ahold of cadex if you need to but they do fit. My rifle will be hear wednesday but won't put the cadex back on until I test fire at the range next week. Want to verify its shooting good per savage test. Have you tried just piecing together the chassis itself to see it by itself? May show you something.

PS.. thin out your inbox. Can't send you a message.

See if this works. Look at the raise rib and where it.splits to top and bottom. The top doesn't go into the space.

Your using there bolts, not the savage ones, correct? Looks like its not tightened up to get them to come together.

Bearcatrp... Just wondering if you torqued the action screws properly. 40 in/lbs both screws, but do the front first and do them incrementally. First 20 in/lbs then 40 in/lbs.

Most rifles get 60 in/lbs (5 ft/lbs) to their action screws, but Savages shoot best at 40in/lbs front screw and the rear screw anywhere between 20in/lbs and 40in/lbs (you have to test for yourself to see how much force your rifle likes on the rear action screw)

When the rifle gets back, will be shooting in original chassis to insure its shooting accurate. If not, then I have to decide to sell or buy another barrel. If the 143 ELD-M works (have not shot these yet), then will take your advice when I torque the action screws. Thanks.

Got the rifle back last week but busy schedule kept me from doing anything. Today, decided to get it out of the shipping box and make sure its clean ready to shoot this week. Came across this scratch. Just shake my head with Savage. Sent them a pic thanking them for the scratch. I baby my rifles and know there were zero marks on this rifle when it shipped out. Its deeper than it looks.

Hit the range today to try some Hornady 143 ELD-X that I ordered while waiting on the rifle from savage. Would not have sent it in if it shot like this. They said they did not do any repairs but it shooting better. Could be it likes the 143's better than the 140 or 129 i tried. Last 2 targets (bottom) were the best but always have 1 dam flyer out of 5 shots. Sucks to have high blood pressure. Get my dies next month to reload some 140 ELD-M using RL 17 and superformance. Will be able to put these bullets close to the lands. The commercial 140's sit back a bit. Still have to install the Cadex chassis too. Do wonder if the new chassis caused poor performance when I tested before.

Are you still looking to replace the PRS stock with something sorter? If so check out the LMT DMR stock. Similar to the PRS but it runs on an AR carbine length buffer tube so the length is adjustable in the fashion that all AR carbine collapsable stocks are. Also the stock is also significantly shorter than a PRS and the cheek riser has a SOPMOD shape to it which is nice. And it's got the QD flush cups your looking for.

Thanks for the info. Will check it out. Also looking at the Luther stock that's a bit shorter and cheaper.

The final piece to the puzzle. Burris XTR II 4-20x50. Should be done until time to rebarrel.
