I'm thinking about getting one of these. I really like the short, (16"), heavy barrel that is threaded on the end. And the Accutrigger is a nice feature as well. Can anyone confirm if they are as accurate as they look? I'm thinking of mounting a Bushnell Tactical Elite fixed 10X on it in Leupold steel Tactical Rings. I doubt I'll ever suppress it, but I most likely would add an AR type birdcage flash suppressor just for the cool factor. For anyone out there shooting one, I'd like to hear from you. Both good and bad that you've experienced.

My brother has one and we love it. we keep the birds out of the fruit trees with it and it is very accurate. Minute of sparrow out to 75 yards easily. Took a bit of breaking in but it seems to shoot better and better the more we shoot it. Ely subsonic hollow points is it's preferred ammo.

That's great to hear. Is the Picitinny rail they give you with it of good quality, or did you replace it with something better? I had one that came with my Marlin X-7 in .223 that was kind of chintzy. So I replaced it with Warne Steel Scope Bases. But this is a .22 LR.

Works fine for our use, I believe its an aluminum rail but it seems well built. Personally, I think this little savage is the best thing going for a .22. Looks cool and shoots great.

Agreed^^ I have the FVSR awesome gun. Close to a minute groups with some good Eley subs. Get it you will not regret. There isnt another .22 on the market that gives you what it does for the price. The rail is EGW super quality. Youll be perfect with your scope choice. Does not need to be cleaned very often at all out, found that out the hard way, cleaned after every shooting session and it was shooting all over. Needs to foul up then it will shot very very nicely.

I recently just bought the FV-SR Troy Landry edition and what little I have shot it I like it a lot. I recently also bought a CZ 455 in 22lr and Im not 100% sure yet but I think the Savage is gonna be a better shooter.
Mines loves Center X but shoots cheaper ammo pretty good as well.
I have added a strap on cheek rest as the stock seems kind of small.
That is 5 shot at 50 yards

these guns shoot. i really think the short barrel helps with the harmonics. Just got a couple boxes of Tenex and Edge for mine, so far mine has shot right at an MOA with eley club so hopefully I can shrink em down. Also going to bed it after seeing how it improed my .17

These guns have the ability to be very accurate. I have tried about 7 brands of Ammo in mine and found the Geco made by RWS shoots with the best groups. I haven't seen any specs but they stay subsonic out of the 16.5 barrel and they give me single hole groups of 5 at 50 yards consistently.

Mine loves any eley sub sonics. Right at an MOA even at 100 (sub moa with the Match and Tenex)

Buy this beast. It is very fun to shoot and extremely accurate. The Trigger is a dream. I switched to a Evolution Stock from Boyd, was worth it. Waiting for the bottom plate and trigger guard, they were out of stock. http://i68.tinypic.com/nx6m0z.jpg

I have a similar stock from Boyd's on my Marlin X-7 in .223. It was a drop in stock that fit beautifully. It was the best $100.00 I ever spent! Beats the hell out of the crappy injection molded POS that came with the rifle. Since this photo was taken, I've applied about 5 coats of Minwax Paste Wax, and buffed it out. It really brought out the beauty of the laminate in the wood!

Thanks for the info! Do you buy the eley sub sonics. Never heard of this brand and I've been looking for something the SVSR likes and I can't seem to shoot MOA at 100 yards.

I have had my best results with Geco ammo and while it isn't advertised subsonic I haven't fired a round yet that went supersonic. It's made by RWS but my luck with it's subsonic wasn't as good as the Geco was. This was five rounds at 50 yards.
