Can I remove the custom lettering on my bolt?

Years ago, I bought a 110FP in 30-06. It was a custom order and as such they put my name on the bolt. Now I am considering selling the rifle, but I know nobody is going to want to buy a rifle with my name on it. It's an all black rifle so I can't just polish it all day long either.

Is there a way to remove the lettering that Savage does on the bolt?

I have not seen the custom lettering they do on the bolt but if its laser etched a scotch brite pad should work. It removes the savage logos from bolts very well.

buy a new bolt "sleeve". Easy enough to get and easier yet to swap out.

perhaps the correct term is bolt body. They are readily available at SSS and other suppliers.
