It looked so pretty sitting here on my back deck drying the 5th coat of clear poly on it, I had to share. The cheek piece is cocked as it is wet and drying. 5 more coats to go!
Its bedded w/ Devcon, waiting for the nutless barreled action seen below, PTG oversized fluted bolt, Ferrel base, Burris Sig. Zee Rings, and Nightforce 12-42X BR NP2DD scope. Cal. 6brx 28" finish length, Kreiger gain twist 8.7-8.3"

Very nice. I have the same stock in blk/grey without the cheek piece; I like it a lot and will be bedding it soon. Question: Did you remove any material before you bedded the action? I assume it came with pillars installed like mine.

I had to widen the barrel channel due to the thickness of the barrel so that it free floats. The recoil lug slot was very generous even w/ the wider SSS recoil lug. I didnt have to relieve anywhere around the action. I used lamp black too to check everything several times. It came out really good w/ the Devcon. I used enough this time. Most times I don't then have to add some a 2nd time!

Awesome stuff savage boy, when you get that polished barrel and action in there it will really make it come alive.

Nice looking stoc that's one of my favorite laminate color combo's

hi-teck- Probably because he's running a 56mm scope and to get a good check weld a adjustable comb will help.

You got it, I have a Nightforce 12-42x 56mm scope, I shoot F class- so prone off the ground, I found w/ my current rig, as nice as it is w/ the Stockade LRBR stock and a bunch of lead in it, I just cant be as comfortable as I want and wanted an adj. cheek weld to get my eye in perfect alignment. Everything matters at 1000 yds. A more consistant cheek weld will at least indirectly, if not directly improve my consistancy and ultimatly score. Since this is my 1st real planned 100% prior to even purchasing a part "big boy" build and not an evolution like my current 260AI rig I am getting it exactly how I want it!

Is that a savage factory receiver that is just polished or a completely custom action. Regardless, I'd be interested in more info...
