Savage 116 BGH .338WM a good deal?

A local store just put a 116bgh in 338 win mag on the clearance rack. The price is $499. Seems like a heavier barrel, what contour is it, and what improvement in accuracy could I expect over a sporter?

Price seems like a good price if new.

I would say there would be No change in accuracy between the barrels. I have three factory 338 takeoff barrels that have been cut back for handguns. All three shoot exceptionally well. One is a super light skinny barrel and two are like you indicate.
