Hi All

Just had a few mods done to the 243 win youth model and was just wondering what torque to use for the stock when it is bedded.

The instructions from boyd said to use 35 inch/lbs and the guy who bedded it for me (he does it for a living) said to just do it until it is tight, not much force is needed, tried to get an exact inch/lbs but he only said tight but not too tight.

I am terrible with over tightening things and my torque screwdriver doesn't have a "tight" or "too tight" setting so thought I would ask here. Can I still just go with the 35 inch/lbs as suggested by Boyds.

Thanks, wasn't sure if getting it bedded changed the specifications

The torque isn't as critical on a rifle that has been bedded, but you don't want to strip the screws. Torque to 35 in/lbs and it won't come loose or strip the threads.

What he said. I torque everything to 35 in/lbs.

My pillared and bedded Axises are torqued to 25 lb-in. I tried cranking them harder and found the groups got larger.
