Hi all,

I need to clarify something before proceeding with my next build.

Can I make a magnum out of my 25-06 by just switching the bolt face?

I have done plenty of bolt face swaps with the newer center feed actions but the rifle is a Stevens 200 staggered feed.

My only concern is the magazine box and follower being correct to feed the magnum cartridge, but I cannot find information to confirm this. It seems the only cataloged items I can find are listed as "long action follower" and "long action magazine box" which leads me to believe that all the L/A boxes and followers are one size. Is this correct?

Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

You should be able to just swap the barrel and bolt head using your current magazine box. If it doesn't feed properly, a little tweaking of the feed lips should get your feeding reliable.
Savage did list a Magnum stagger feed magazine box, part number 100191 and the follower is part number 102981, but I doubt you will need them. They are most likely unobtainable from the factory.
