I've been toying with the idea of building a .375 DCM, which is essentially a CheyTac Improved. The cost of components/reloading really isn't much more than one of the big .338 cartridges, but you obviously go through powder a lot quicker. The actions rated for a such a round are what you end up paying for, and the barrels certainly bring a premium as well.

All that being said... The .375CT is one of, if not the premier ELR round. Even more so than the .50.
I am just getting ready to start with LR shooting

Picking up my Savage 110 FCP HS Precision 338 Lapua next week out of jail

Just bought a AI 28 MOA scope mount and the scope will be a SWFA Super Sniper 16x

So that makes with my 20 MOA rail 118 MOA in total

It's a start to get me going out to 2000+ yards

First I am gonna have some fun with the Savage and see how far I will get with this rifle

And than the 375 CheyTac will follow 😉

On a budget?

The only way to go is get a donor 7mm (Savage) and screw a 338 Edge Barrel on it. If you play your cards right, you will have less than $1,200 in the rifle (with the new barrel). Then get a "good" scope and put it on. You should be ready to go!

Any questions, just PM me.

I built one just like stated above, and it's an argument as to which one is better, the Lapua or the Edge! I shoot 165 grain bullets up to the 300 Bergers in this rifle.

Dennis, tried sending you a pm, but it won't go through. I have a few questions for as I am undecided again...

I'm not a long range shooter, but as for the 338 Lapua not being up to shots beyond 2000 yds, all I can say is someone forgot to tell the two guys Craig Harrison killed in Afghanistan, 2009, at over 2700yds. One right after the other. Those were not lucky shots.

Not sure what kind of grouping he got, because the targets moved after being hit.

With an L115A3
Hope I can own one . . . one day 😉

Or fine tune my Savage 110 FCP HS Precision 338 Lapua to that level of a L115A3 . . . what seems to be impossible if you ask me

Or . . . . ?
