Bad day at the range, pos scope BSA 6×24 scope cross hair started to rotate all over. I am done trying to sight it in 11vt 308, I in April. Will get a nice scope for me around 200, the a one piece scope base wasted a lot of ammo

Typical performance of a BSA scope. Sorry to hear you got stung by their crap. Check out Mueller scopes Good value for the money.

Yup, I was bitten by BSA years ago...before I knew any better. It ultimately cost me a M77 .22 Hornet, since I blamed the gun for the .410 patterns it would print on paper. So, like a fool, I kept the scope and traded the Hornet off for a little .243. Needless to say, I was really bummed when the new gun printed almost the exact same pattern. Trying to eliminate myself as the problem, I tried a different scope....wouldn't you know it, that little .243 was a shooter! Some lessons you just have to learn the hard way...

If you want to stay with a 6x, I'm having good luck with a Weaver 6x36 on my .308. Very clear, affordable, simple and LIGHT. Only weighs 10 oz.

I am using 2-piece Weaver aluminum bases and the lightweight Weaver Quad-lock rings, and have had zero issues through hundreds of rounds so far.

The Mueller 8-32 target scope is $221 on Amazon right now.
But if you can swing an extra $100 or so, CamerLandNY is accepting preorders on the Vortex Viper 6.5-20x44 for $299 right now :o

Thanks guys, due to funds bought rifle. I will put 4×12 back on and save for a nice fixed 6. To me that would be about 250.00.

As you move up in magnification quality glass becomes more of a necessity. You can shoot out to a few hundred yards with a standard 3X9. Tried and true models like Leupold VX-1 or Redfield Revolution will both get the job done, made in U.S. and have very good warranties that you'll more than likely never need

Looks like you can pick up the Leupold 6x for ~$300, maybe cheaper if on sale somewhere...

If this is the 11VT that the OP has talked about, yes, it is a sharpshooter POS that comes on the gun.

Unfortunately the lower end Bushnell's are pretty bad. I wouldn't recommend anyone get a Bushnell model below their 3200 series. I have one of their 6500 Elites and it is extremely nice. It compares very well to my father's Weaver Tactical 4-20x

I also hear their DMR scope is where it's at ;)
