How rare are 16 gauge Savage Fox BSE side-by-side shotguns with single-trigger ?

Have found one with good metal condition and not-so-good wood condition.

This is the first 16 gauge Savage Fox BSE that I have seen.

If I pass this 16 gauge one up, will I be a long time finding another one ?

Are you a user or a collector?

What kind of money is involved?

Me ?

Never been a collector.

$400 - $450 for the 16 gauge Savage Fox BSE.

Wood in rough shape. Metal OK.

Neither.

He's a repository....

Not very common (especially with the single trigger) but the price is probably about right if the wood is in bad shape.

That being said - gentlemen do not shoot double barrels with beaver-tail fore arms or vent ribs. The 16 gauge chambering MAY make up for one of those faults, but certainly not both if the gun is so equipped.

Of course you could put a nice splinter/straight grip stock set on it and be well on your way...

Again, not a collector...

But have acquired some other side-by-side 16 gauges -- with double-triggers and splinter forends.

Ithaca
L C Smith
Lefever
Parker
Remington
Winchesters
etc

Actually, Winchester Model 21s with ventilated-ribs, single-trigger, and beavertail forends are fine.

There is that slippery slope again. Next thing you know you will be holding them sideways with one barrel over the other and speaking in Italian.
