I have a model 110 in 243 that an older non-accutrigger model and I just bought a Model 10 P-SR in 308.

I bought a MDT Chassis for the P-SR and want to see if I can use the Stock and Mag system that came with my P-SR on my 110 (243).
Is it easily possible? I plan on loaning the 243 out to my fellow Vets on our Hunts and a magazine would help, the stock is nicer on the P-SR as well. I hate to ditch the Stock and magazine system if its still usable. I may rebarrel the 243 later but I'm in no hurry because the 243 shoots well.

Thanks

I would say no... It sounds like you have a 110E in 243 and I am pretty sure the action screws will not line up to use stock or magazine system. I am sure you could sell those items and not be a total loss.

I really want to hate the 243 because its an oddball but it shoots so **** nice, maybe I'll give it away and buy a stripped down new model
I want to try a 6.5 creedmoor but cant find a savage model that has what I want so I'll end up buying a stocker in 308 and swap it over. I want a 26" threaded barrel, LH twist.

I just was hoping to use the accustock on the 243 because it seems like a nice stock. Maybe I'll save it for a future project.

Buy a 6.5 barrel and put it on the 243. What is the screw spacing on your 243?

The 243 long action is probably 5.0625 and the 308 will probably be 4.25. There is also a weird intermediate size of 4.4375, an older short action size.

And just a FYI, you can use a long action 110 MDT Chassis for a short action round like a 7mm08 or a 308. That is what i did. Just use the 300 win mag mags from them and tweak the ears for the smaller round and you are good to go. You can then in the future use that chassis and mags for long or short action builds.

I own 8 Savage Centerfire's already, trying to simplify my collection a little, I keep buying Axis rifles because they shoot well and I can loan them out without crying if one gets beat up. They were on sale a while back so I bought a few in calibers I just wanted to try out. Axis 243, 223, another 243, another 223in SR, 22-250, 30-06 Then a 110 (243 I wrote about above), and the 10 P-SR.

I have a 338 Lapua on layaway. and I had a model 12 that is out on loan to a buddy to finish the match season with. I should have 10 in house before april so I'm reluctant to buy more. I'm tired of buying safe's. My 338 will have a chassis already so I wont need one for that one, the creedmoor will most likely be in a manners stock because I want to use it to hunt out west if I ever get around to it. I have been trying to get out there to hunt a Mulie or a Ram for 10 years but deployments and being wounded kept me from going.

BTW I want Savage to make a 6.5 Creedmoor with a threaded barrel and a nice rounded or threaded bolt handle (So you can add a handle) with an AICS magwell, please ditch the Savage mags, the AICS mags are standard, just accept it and everything will be cheaper for everyone. Besides, wont it burn big green up to see a Savage marked AICS mag at Camp Perry? Even better one in a Marine or Army Snipers rifle.
