I have just finished my first build. SA 223 stagger feed to 6BR. I searched the archives and could not find the answer to my question. I have the High Score follower in the 308 length. I think they called it medium. Do I need to remove the box from the action or do I need a larger box. The directions make it sound like you take the action out of the stock and insert the follower from the bottom.

The .223 magazine uses the small follower, not the 308.

This. I use the same follower for 223 Savage and a 45 ACP Savage. Remove the stock from the action then the spring loaded factory follower. Install the High Score follower then reinstall the factory follower. The factory follower and spring will apply upward pressure to keep the High Score follower in place.

And yes there is a difference between 223 and 308 followers.

If you have a 223 magbox then you will need a "small" single shot follower for it.

To use the medium follower you need a 308 magbox and follower.

fyi, the follower just sits ontop of the factory spring loaded follower.
