Well my new bolt came from Midway.
It is for one of my BVSS's
Wanted to go the complete bolt route instead of changing bolt heads all the time.
I got the blued as it was cheaper and it seems to fit better than the original.
The guiding lug is about half as long but no big deal and small bolt handle (easy fix)
It even came with the extractor in it - I had ordered the parts as in the description
it said these were needed but have an extra naked bolt head that can use them.
It was minus the ejector though but that is fine as I'm going the dedicated single shot route.
Now I just have to make the final pic between 22 or 6 BR.
Anyways everything works as it should and goes click.

Make sure you check the headspace. Not all bolt heads (or bolts) are created equal!

The new one is .473 moving from my .223 to the 6BR.
When the new bbl arrives I will do the deed.

Check your primary extraction as well.

Extractor seems to give a good purchase - Just visually checked.
Gotta figure which bbl to get - Trying to find out who's reamer is the
best for what I want but this is harder than you would think.
Ask what specs are and most of the time they just say "Oh it's a standard match reamer"
Even when the amount of freebore is asked about you get no answer(e-mails)

I'll give the boys at Shilen a call after the weekend.

750K2,
Primary extraction takes place at the rear baffle/bolt handle.

Could you elaborate a little?

Here is a quote from an early review of the Savage M110...
"The action cocks on the opening stroke of the bolt and primary extraction is furnished by camming action between opposed surfaces of the bolt handle and rear baffle"

And here is the source....

As stated it cocks and clicks - as soon as the bbl comes I'll prime a case and if it goes bang
I'll keep goin - if not I'll work at it til it does ;)

Well I was messing around and colored my locking lugs and had uneven contact - not bad for
a factory gun. So I measure my locking lug thickness and the spare .473 head I have was a little
thinner and more uniform so figured I'd swap them around and check what kind of contact the
other had. The new install has less contact but more uniform on both lugs.
I'm thinking this one floats more so I'm going with this one to keep the advantage of the floating head.
Now if I could just make my mind up on 22BR or 6BR.
This changes almost daily - when my brass arrives I'll have to get off the fence.

Just need to pic the bolt handle I want now - any other options out there besides Sharpshooters?
