1:8 twist barrel for .270 Winchester?

Berger just announced a new bullet: 170 gr. Extreme Outer Limits Elite Hunter, PN 27575, and they recommend a 1:8 twist to stablize the bullet. Does anyone know of a barrel maker who'd spin out a 24 inch, 1:8, .277 caliber barrel to replace the 1:10 I currently have on my Savage?

I could make a prefit with a Brux or K&P, cut rifled barrels will get you just about any twist you could want.

Thank you, sinman. What would you charge for the prefit? So, I would order the barrel from Brux or K&P, then have them ship it directly to you for the work you need to do? And, could I send you the rifle and have you install the barrel?

Looks like X-Caliber is set up to go down to a 1-7 twist in .277". I've been thinking the same thing, but I'm not sure if a 270 will send them fast enough to make it worth it.
