I have a 243 axis I took to the range and it has a feed issue. There is a lot of play in the magazine do you guys think that is causing the feed issue?
Is there any known issues with the Axis rifles and their magazines?

Depends on the kind of feed issue. If the play is up and down and it's not picking up the next round it could be. Have someone lightly press up on the magazine when you cycle the bolt to load another round. If that solves the issue then the magazine isn't locking in high enough and you'll need to address that (try different mag or different stock, or send back to Savage).

If it's a matter of the bullet not lining up with the chamber (jamming the nose on the breech face) the feed lips may need tweaking.
