Hello everyone. This is my first new topic to post. I really like this forum. I have learned alot from looking at it every day. I am trying to do my first savage build. I have a mcgowan barrel and action from Jim and b/c medalist stock from stockys. The problem is i have no screws to attach stock to action. I called Jim and basically said call b/c. I called b/c they do not have any. I called midway and they do not have any. I can't get stockys on the phone. I do have some duck tape. Anybody know what to do. Thanks

I get mine from an auto parts store here. Have to cut them down to fit cause there too long but no big deal w/ a dremel.

This is what I had to do on one of my stocks, cuts have to be perfect or bolt will hit the allen bolts!

..Easy way to do it is take the bolt out. Run the allen bolt in..Cut the bolt lenght 1 thread below flush in reciever...

Just mark the bolt with a silver Sharpie or something that will be there when you take it out! Very easy.

Different stock takes different length bolts! Savage only supplies their OEM bolts.

I agree, they should, but not all stock manufactures conform to Savage spec's! That was the case with one of my guns!
