I shoot paper and reload. I am currently shooting a M&P 15, with a Geissele trigger and getting 5-shot groups in the .7-.8 range. I am looking to tighten my groups a bit on a limited budget and have narrowed my choices to the FV or FCV in 223. I have a few questions:

1) Does the FCV still come with the Accustock? I have heard conflicting things about this.
2) The cheapest place I can find the FV new is at Cabelas for $419 but they are backordered and all they tell me si to keep calling back every 2 weeks. (I am closest to the one in Hamburg, PA). Anyone know of another source with decent pricing?
3) Opinions on the FV vs. FCV for my particular application?

I bought two of the Cabelas 12FV rifles when they were on sale for $379, one in 22-250 and the other in 308. I was working up a 53gr V-Max load in the 22-250 the other day and shot a .341" 5 shot group @ 100. This rifle just plain shoots, even in the cheap plastic stock!

The FV is made for Cabelas and has a center feed blind magazine. The FCV is detachable magazine, center feed sold by virtually everyone else, but usually with about a $300 price bump.

I bought a model 12FV in 223 from Cabelas last spring on sale and with a rebate from Savage. Pretty good deal for a model 12 that shoots WAY under MOA. It comes with a plastic stock that is adequate for a light recoil rifle like the 223 however, I put a laminated stock underneath it from E.A.Brown co. and bedded it, and it shoots even better, especially with a bi-pod.

+1 for the FV.

It's the epitome of a hard-to-beat value on the market currently.
