I'm sure I will. My Barrel got sent to my old address in Tennessee last week luckily enough we were able to intercept it and Jim got it back Saturday and sent it to me today

HO-LEE CRAP! IT'S HEEEEER!!!!http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20160520/1660e07451095d608a1ff75ac605f2a1.jpg

Now I have to open up the barrel channel, pillar the stock, finish shaping the stock and lay down the lacquer and have the barrel bead blasted to match the action and probably get some low Burris Zee rings

Crap just my luck. There are several issues with the barrel. I've contacted Jim and will be waiting for a response

I'm curious about the issues as well.

Wrong profile, imperfections in the rifling(not Jims fault), wrong finish.
To be honest is been bugging me all day. Waiting that long and got all excited when I got the delivery confirmation and now I just expect to be out another 4 months

It's official. Tomorrow morning my barrel hours back to Jim at apachegunworks to have him inspect the barrel and possibly have a replacement from x-caliber

Ok before I packaged the barrel up tonight to send off I ran a patch through it just to see and the imperfections inside the barrel are not there now. The barrel still had to go back to be re contoured and the finish matte but at least it won't be out 4 months for a new barrel

Sorry forgot to update. I got the barrel back after a week or so and it is now contoured correctly.
Now I'm trying to decided on what method to go through with pillars but it looks oh so nice. Once I get the pillars in I'll make the final decision on finish but I'm thinking of just putting a extra gloss lacquer finish on it without a stain. Openions?

Is the bottom of your lug hitting the stock holding the action and barrel high?

Possibly. I just had to hog out the lug channel towards the trigger gaurd about 1/4in to get the action to fit. There is still plenty more fitting work to be done

OK it looks like it is not deep enough. With the action laying in the inlet the vent holes are low. With the barreled action they sit high.

Last night I started to finish hogging out the barrel channel and I've got about all but the last 2in free floated.
After I finish hogging the barrel channel I'll start on the pillars but I've don't have much more to go until i can start laying the lacquer down and putting some lead down range

I removed a ton of material on the left side of the stock near the action where the action is milled. The radius around the back of the action where the safety had about 1/8in that needed to be knocked down. Around the ejection port the wood was a tad tall so I removed it and then in the area where the bolt release is I had to bring the cut about 1/2in forward and down some.

All the removal in these steps was a heavy rasp file. There is still a lot more fine finishing in the mentioned areas where im going to radius the edges and the. The major work will be on the forend where im going to taper the front a bit and possibly shorten it. I'll be starting my tapering just after the barrel nut. Then to pillar bed it and find the right color stain and spray some nice lacquer.https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20190120/a7062561dcb8fbd5ac6b81a36b087fb0.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20190120/1338c0f31e73a6f31e846eb6e7f3698c.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20190120/166bd8779a5385213050efbd0fd56639.jpg

Got the bolt handle cleaned up pin break. After work I'm bead blasting the action as well as the barrel because they're two different finisheshttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20190121/9d5c4fab064748dbe343a83748a43bc7.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20190121/839eff29355dfa2399d0b69b3e898e20.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20190121/06e3b6b378c533439d79c343ce016d41.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20190121/06674487d8ac9891e4e88a5fd8caf9e8.jpg
