I just got home with my new rifle.

I got the Savage Mk 2 BV.
I put a Leupold VX-1 2x7x28 Rimfire scope on it.

Very nice looking. Excited. Ready to shoot it. Can't wait.

one question that I am now pondering.....
How come the prettiest rifle in your collection is always the one you are about to purchase or the one you just brought home?

well, I shot my new rifle this past week. it was kind of weird.
At 50 yards, we sighted in and the pattern was not good at all. close to 2 inches.
I fired 10 rounds of 5 shots each with no improvement.
Then, suddenly, the pattern tightened to a 1/2 inch on the next 5 round volley.
Then, the next was better than that. after the first 10 rounds, the best was 1/4 and the worst was 1/2

I am very happy with my rifle.
Took it out yesterday for a couple hours and shot some squirrels.

Nice! Apparently your rifle likes the bore a bit dirty. My 17hmr is the same way.

Sounds like you got your rifle shooting great. I have a 30.06 that likes a dirty barrel.
