Well it was my first weekend with my new 10FCP-K .308 Win.
Saturday went to the range with 2 boxes of Winchester 147Gr White Box, just to break in the barrel. It was the most disappointing experience I have ever had shooting !
The grouping (if you can call it that !) was in the 4” to 5” class, more like a shot pattern then a group !! I did consider using it as a boat paddle…..but I don’t own a boat.
Well went back today (Sunday) with 50 round of prepped Federal Brass, 168 Gr. SMK, and some Varget powder, I started at 45 grains of Varget, and set the bullet .003”
off the lands (this thing has a very short throat for a factory barrel !!) Holly cr@p !!!
I have a ¾’’ group ! well now we are talking something I can work with. After some tweeking of the load (and I’m not finished !) I was shooting about 50% ½” / 50% ¼” from an out of the box rifle !!!…………..
The only thing that I can (now) complain about is that the stocks wrist is to thin for my liking, it’s the size of a hot dog ! No bun !! ( and, dame I like a good set of bun’s )

Had almost exactly the same experience, except with PMC ammo. Bought some Hornady 168 match ammo and shot my first sub-moa group. Now I reload and the gun still likes the 168's, but I mostly run 175smk's over 43.9g of varget at about .008 off the lands. Not the best 100 yard load, but great for the 600yard matches I shoot...
