Hi everybody. New here. I live in Talkeetna Alaska, off grid in the mountains north east of town. I'm a professional mariner by trade.

First post is about finding a replacement stock (hunting style) for my BA10. The rifle is a shooter and I just don't use it much anymore for long range shooting since I have three other rifles of larger caliber than 308 for my shooting. I'd like to find a decent aftermarket stock to put the action and barrel into. Can anyone point me in the right direction for an aftermarket stock?

What do you want in terms of stock?
Unless I'm way off my bubble here, the action is a standard Savage. So have the stock folks inlet for you, or you do what is needed for the barrel channel.

Boyds, Bell & Carlson, SSS, HS Precision, Manners, Houge....

Depends what you're looking for specifically and how much you're wanting to spend, but there are plenty of offerings for any of those companies. Just make sure you know what you have so you order the correct thing - short action, centerfeed, 4.4" action screw spacing, and which bolt release/magazine system. There are plenty of options for any variation.

We would need to find out what you want to do with the rifle for us to recommend a stock for it. The stock on the 10ba is a heavy beast of the stock really meant for tactical type of situations. As a hunting stock where you would have to carry the rifle over hill and dale, the stock leaves much to be desired for that purpose.

There are several lighter stock options available if you want to use the rifle as a long range hunter. The Manners stocks, the xlr carbon stocks, or the MDT HS3 stocks all come to mind as a better solution for hunting.

Exactly, the heavy factory stock needs to go away and be replaced by a lighter hunting style stock. The rifle will only be used for hunting now and will be carried in difficult terrain. Any way to get rid of the 10 round magazine and go with a blind magazine stock also?
