Hello all,

I have several Savage riles and like the very very much. All of them but one has a great accutriggers. I have one rifle that the accutrigger will not go below 2.5lbs. I have seen some of the hacks to make the trigger go lighter but I do not want to do this as the trigger should go lighter. As an example I have some of my other Savage accutriggers are at 1.06, 1.03, and 1.8. I like them at the one pound mark for target shooting. Anyone have any ideas? trigger replacement, vendor/brand? send back to Savage? etc.

Any ideas welcome. Thanks

I have two Savage rifles with Accutriggers. One will not go below 2.5 lbs. (purchased on a model 11 TH XP package) and the other will go down to 1.5 lbs. (originally on a Savage Scout). I assumed they made (for lack of better terms) hunter and target/tactical versions of their Accutriggers, but I don't know that for sure.

Is this the red blade target accutrigger? NSS carries the springs to switch to this if not. Should bring down some

this is NOT a red blade. I do have a red blade however.

The one that will not go down is on a HS Precision FCP Model 10 308. *** not a red blade precision trigger, this is the problem child.

I also have the 223, 243 hunter preadators both go low, the model 10 fcp-sr goes low, and the LRP (red blade) 243 goes low.

What is NSS?

Savage has two different Accutrigger springs; standard and varmint/target. I have seldom got the standard Accutrigger spring that comes on the budget models to adjust below 2.5 lbs. Your best bet is to purchase a target/varmint Accutrigger spring. This will usually allow you to get down to around 1.5 lbs and up to 3.0 lbs. Site vendor, GunShack usually has them in stock listed as a target Accutrigger spring ($7.00). Savage Arms will not let you purchase one direct unless you are a gunsmith or sign a release of liability waiver.
