you will be able to shoot most of them, you might not be able to push the 55gr bullets to the max though

55 gr VMax work fine at 4000+ in my 6mm AI. Have not pushed them faster than that though.

so should i do 6mmai or 243 ai the floor is open? have bunch 243 brass sonce rifle is 243 win now. But could build custom 6mm ai and leave 243 alone for wife. i like the idea of 4000 fps but in same respect would use more for deer antelope than varmits since i have a triple duece and 204 and 17 rem custom

I price what to build on what I have on hand - dies, brass, bullets, powder, etc.

Same type of question - buy/build a 338 Lapua or 338 RUM? RUM wins, hands down, just on the cost of brass alone. Go with a touch longer barrel on the RUM, and it does EVERYTHING the Lapua can do.

im a 6mm rem fan but with the Lapua brass the 243ai is the way to go, Lee makes 243ai dies for cheap too.

Good article on 6mm rem ackley VS 243 AI on 6mmbr.com. See link

dies are cheaper for the .243AI, But I tend to like the .244AI better. I have both and have not gotten either one totally dialed in yet.

so if i use the lee ackely dies does that eliminate fire forming? may be a dumb question but guess a guy doesnt know if he doesnt ask. This will be my first wildcat so diggin for all the info i can get. Also is there a good wildcat cartridge book for a good read out there?

no you still need to fireform, the only AI factory stuff I have ever seen was 280ai ammo and I think brass too

Is lapua gonna be the best brass to use for fire forming? Also is there a specific barrel manuf that i should look at for barrel? What about twist? shoot varmits to deer to speed goats to paper.

was told the fast twist could destruct hollow points in flight? Such as my 8 twist brux suppose one could tame down load to support the twist i guess. Just have a bunch of 70 and 75 gr hollow points and thought id use em up for fire forming brass. Any thoughts?
