if they were trying to save money why not eliminate the axis 2 xp? they could have disc. the old axis with the old triggers too.that way you could have a regular axis with the accutrigger, and the hb model with the accutrigger too.guess i dont get it most folks want to pick their own scope anyway. mine came with a sharpshooter 4x12x40 ao on it. that went straight off and i replaced it with a legend ultra anyway.

There are a couple of dealers selling these NIB on gunbroker. I just won a bid last night on a 243 HB for $246 (saw one go 2 days ago for $237). Shipping added $25 and I'll have to pay $20 for the ffl transfer. The $50 rebate will negate that so pretty good deal. All ready got a tracking number so I should have it early next week.

I just picked up the axis HB in 22-250 at a local gun shop last week and love it. They also had them in 243. I could not pass it up because the price was so cheap. They have them on sale for $239 then there is a $50 mail in rebate from savage. That makes the final price $189 - a no brainer! Thinking of going back for one in 243.

Bought one from Tanner on GB in 243. For a final cost of $189 I had NO CHOICE

looks like the axis hb's must be selling like hotcakes....i decided to jump on the bandwagon too. like needagun, i grabbed a .243 from Tanners and they were GREAT to deal with. was never a 243 guy as I'm a 25-06 fanboy, but i'm looking forward to handloading for it and using it for a future build down the road. This is my first axis.

bidding on a Axis 6.5 creedmoor or would bid on a 308, like I need one more rifle leaning in the corner :), the old lady use to grip and *****, now she just shakes her head and asks if I bought her anything also :)

So Savage will not be making the HB axis any longer? If so that's horrible those little rifles are great. I wish they would rethink that. I know everyone I hunt with was wanting to buy one for hunting the delta. Good tuff rifles that shoot outstanding and it won't break the bank for a bayou rifle.

their custom shop will still make you a HB axis the email said.
but I'm sure it won't be at the deal we are all finding on them now out there

We have seen the same corporate decisions in the past from Big Green and Big Red. When the bargain model starts to chalange the company's flag ship model for sales and accuracy, they tend to go away. Ala, the Rem 788. Corporations and stock holders tend to like big numbers.

Man that stinks all the way around. That's what was so great about them is They were a good value. But if I'm going to pay 450$ for one I'd assume buy a 110 it seems like they just started hitting the shelf here and folks snatch them up because they shoot 1/2" groups for cheap. I guess I'll have to hit gun broker and get another one or two.
