Swaping bolts on a 110.

I decided to start a new thread rather than hijack one. I am wondering if you can simply swap an old vertical pin bolt with a horizontal one?

Is it a simple swap?, I called Savage and they wouldn't touch it as it was made before their oldest records, and they won't be responsible. If yes, where do you find a lefty? I'm outta sources to search. I'm thinking of swapping barrels, and this seems to be the solution unless I just buy a new one.....

Yes, you can update the complete bolt by simply swapping it out with a newer bolt. Headspace should always be rechecked. As far as finding one, you could post a WTB in the classifieds, search the part finder for a suitable replacement and order it from Savage, check Midway and Brownells, or even try Fred at SSS or Jim at Northland.

Just so everyone's on the same page, the swap has to include swapping to a newer style barrel as well.
