Vortex Ranger 1500 rangefinder

I was just on midway, and an add for the New vortex ranger 1500 popped up for $479
Looked on the Vortex web sight and still only see the Ranger 1000.
Anyone know anything about these?

I have not been paying attention to rangefinders for several years but for the price I think I would go with the Sig Kilo 2000 over the Vortex. Back when I used them a lot, the general rule was to get one that would range significantly farther than where you wanted to use it on a regular basis so it would likely be more reliable on those targets in less than ideal lighting situations, than one rated at a shorter max distance.

My guess is the Sig will outrange the Vortex on any type of target under any lighting conditions, and the price is pretty much the same. The warranties are basically identical - Free replacement or repair no matter who originally bought it or how it was put out of commission.
