I thought I remember this being posted a while back, but couldnt find it.

I want to drill and tap a pc of formed 243ai brass to use on my Hornady/Stoney Point OAL tool.

Does anyone know what size drill bit and tap to use for this?

Or can I just run one for a standard 243 thru my AI die to bump the shoulder back, and just use that?

Tap size is 5/16-36, tap drill, 19/64" or letter M.

The shoulder isn't the problem using the parent in the improved chamber, its the length from the breach face to the junction of the neck-shoulder junction. The shoulder of the parent is hang'n in the wild blue yonder in an improved chamber, it doesn't make contact at all.

If you want to use the parent use your Improved FL die to size it just enough to push the junction back so it just barely chambers without resistance closing the bolt. If everything is right it will be about .004" difference give or take.

That is how I have it set Bill... I actually did it this way and used it to headspace my barrel too, per getting the info from Fred.

Ill probably just drill and tap a pc of formed brass though.
