A friend gave me a little gizmo that makes it easier to lift the bolt. It looks like a plastic disc with a small hole in the center. A small bearing sits on that hole. I installed it according to his instructions and it seems to work. Unfortunately, I don't know who makes it. Even worse than that is the fact that I have no idea how it works. I tried searching for the answer, but I haven't had any success. Can one of you folks shed some light on this for me? Thanks

I get mine bolt lift kits from stockade stocks and then machine the bolt assy screw off .132 thou to make up the difference of added length from the kit. It woprks way better by removing it from the bolt or make a washer to go under the screw to avoid machining it off.

It works due to less metal rubbing together, less friction.

I didn't shorten the bolt assembly screw, but it seemed like it went in all the way.

I didn't shorten the bolt assembly screw, but it seemed like it went in all the way.

I'm sure it did but it added additional preasure on the entire bolt assemble. You added materials to the bolt assemble and then compressed everything into the same space thus adding preasure (resistance). if you add a spacer (between BAS and bolt handle) or cut the BAS then you should find that your bolt will have a little less resistance on lift, making the most of your mod.

Lathe, or some slow careful work with a bench grinder.
