off the wall question im relatively new to shooting past 100 yards so today i zeroed my savage 11 chambered in 223 but it seemed to hit like 3 inches left at 300 yards
with no wind so my question is why? and or is this normal to account for drifting along with bullet drop? my drop was minimal as expected but the drift i wasnt expecting it was consistent though but some insight and help understanding would be nice

How many wind flags did you have out and at what distances? Very rarely is there no wind for 300 yards.

A little scope cant and a couple mph crosswind could account for it. I adjusted my 22.250 data to 2950fps at muzzle; 2mph wind on shows 3.2in drift at 300yds.

some cant could indeed be the issue .... how ever looking at it a light breeze not heavy enough to toss a flag could push that little .224 diameter bullet all over the place also its a new rifle and my first 22 cal rifle so this lack of wind deflection is a new issue i guess i will now learn to account for
