Been lurking for a few weeks and finally decided to register. I recently acquired a model 10 in 308 through a trade. I plan on building of this action to do some mid to long range shooting in the future. Right now the plan is a heavy barrel, better stock, better glass, cerakote, and maybe a new trigger. I plan on taking this build on by myself. Hopefully with the all the knowledge on this sight I can make it work.

How far north east are you? The savage is easy to build on. I just did a complete build myself and had no problems. I'm in Wichita Falls.

If you plan on customizing that model 10, I'd suggest becoming a paid member. For $15/year, you'd get access to the member classifieds. You can build a complete rifle(or ten) from components bought in the classifieds.

Even if you don't become a member, there's lots of good info in the forum.
