Hey All, so I purchased a Savage Mark II TR in 22LR 2 months ago and I wanted to see which ammunition ran the best, so I canvased the local shooting supply stores and hit a few Internet sellers and came up with 20 varieties that I thought would give a good cross section of whats out there, sorry I did not find or test any Aguila. So I shot 10, five shot groups and got the average, best group and worst group, this was done over about 4 sessions using a bore snake after every ammo type change. I hope this is useful information for everyone, I was shooting off a bench with rests, I am by no means any kind of expert but I have been target shooting and varmint hunting for about 25 years so I am somewhat proficient at this shooing game. Again I hope this is useful.

I hope I am posting the info correct. It seems this forum interface is lacking in it ability to easily posting pic and data. I will work in getting my info posted.

You can't directly upload - you need to put pics, etc. on photobucket, flickr, etc. Instructions are in a sticky on the photo board.

Wish you could have tried Win Powerpoints in your trial!

For the ammo on your list that I have tried (with my Mark II FV) - I think the results seem pretty accurate.

Thanks for posting the info! :)

I have been watching several forums on various ammunition and I don't know if you all have noticed that RWS is showing up near the top of a lot of lists. I have used RWS 9MM and .45 ACP and have had some of the best accuracy of anything I have shot. I even used my Kimber .45 with RWS ammo for my CCW class and after shooting 50 rounds in the target from the required 3 yards, 5 yards, and 7 yards the instructor just looked at the big round hole in the black center of the target and said "I can't count your score cause they all went in the middle. In NC you only have to hit inside the center body mass of B27 target, or the 7 ring, to pass. I put all 50 rounds inside the X and Circle X so that there was literally no paper left in the center. I went back to my regular range and tried the same test with Winchester and PMC .45s and my spread out into the 8 circle on both cartridges. I will be looking for some of the RWS .22 rounds to try in my new MKII BSEV. BWS makes top grade match quality ammo in Switzerland and the most important consideration is that it is some of the most reasonably priced ammo available.
