Acquired an older Savage Model 10 Scout Rifle, pre accu-trigger. As discussed in another thread the magazine has a lot to be desired. We shot the Savage yesterday and it shoots just fine. It has the metal hardware to contain the magazine.
I haven't taken the action out of the stock yet, but my question is two fold: 1) Are the new style Savage Magazines any good, they seem to be better made; and 2) Rather then spend money on another magazine that might not work either, I am contemplating swapping stocks. A standard stock like the FCP with internal magazine would be okay or just upgrade to the newer type stock.
