I have LA 110 in 270FXP cal and I was thinking about changing calibers and what are my choices without changing magazines? I do know that short action calibers like 308 or 243 require changing the magazine box with some epoxy fitting. Also my magazine follower has the foot that rest in the center of the stock with the box held in with a clip so is type of feed known as a "center feed" blind feed or staggered feed?
Thanks

If your magazine is attached to the stock when you remove the action, it is a centerfeed. If your magazine is attached to the action, when you remove it from the stock, it is a stagger feed.

(If I recall correctly)

You don't have a 270 FXP cal, it's a 110 FXP rifle in 270 win.

As to what you can make it, the answer is potentially anything, but maybe nothing.
Blind mag, stagger feeds are simple. Anyone who tells you that "you have to change them", isn't trying. I swapped a 7mm REM mag into a 22-250 and didn't touch anything to do with the magazine. Worked about 95% without a hiccup. Then changed a 7mm RM to Creedmoor and is flawless.
Point is, there are enough QC variables with a Savage that it isn't worth making a mountain out of a molehill; until you need to.

My stagger feed long action 308 feeds better than it did when it was a 270 Win. Only required a barrel change, nothing else.

i ran an 7/08 out of 30/06 magazine without any problems. iirc i may have tweeked the mag lips just a bit but it worked great.
