so ive wanted a magnetospeed chrony for a few years and and finally decided to buy one. regular photo sensor chronys work ok but at time are a PITA because of weather...as most of you guys know the magnetospeed is not weather sensitive at all.
the biggest reasons i havent bought one up until now is price and the fact that its not something i use very often...anyway i got it last night and read through the instructions a couple of times and then plugged in the display and played with it for a few minutes to see how the functions worked...surprisingly simple as im not real tech savvy...im typing this with one finger LOL!!

i loaded up 20 rounds this morning to go test it out...i strapped it to my barrel before going and it was a little off because of the barrel tapper so i took a piece of gorilla tape folded it in half(sticky side to sticky side)to use as shims to level the bayonet which worked well...the bayonet is a little lower than the recommended 1/4" but seemed to work very well regardless.
its cold as a well diggers you know what today and windy so i set up at 100yds(so i could get this done and get home)...round one didnt read so i adjusted the sensitivity level to Hi 1...round 2 2847...round 3 2852...round 4 2840...round 5 2840.
the next 5 shot group was right in line with group one...round 1 2846...round 2 2841...round 3 2853...round 4 2851...round 5 2847(i might play with neck tension and see if i can tighten up the ES a little). i shot 2 more 5 shot groups and they were both right in line with groups #1 and #2.

the other thing i was testing out was a new accushot monopod...ive never used one and wasnt sure that i was going to like it after playing around with it a little in the house...but after shooting with it i really like the monopod...we can use them in our matches but they can not touch the ground so i shot with it partly folded which made adjusting different heights simpler than off hand and i feel like i have more control over the back of the rifle which should give me better shot placement...i need to use it at longer ranges but im sure its going to be a great addition.

these are the 4 5 shot groups i shot...notice they tighten up as they go as im getting the feel for the monopod....

and the monopod...this was a blemished one so it was 15% off i think...
