View Full Version : A longer extended bolt baffle

Hi guys. Looking for a little help from some of you crafty machinists.

I have one of the older long actions with the bottom cut out for short action calibers. The "Tactical SS" model. And the extended bolt baffle from the factory isn't quite long enough for my liking. I still have about 1/2" of too much rearward travel on my bolt. Are there any of you who can manufacture a longer extended baffle for me?

You can see in the second picture how the bolt comes back farther than the back of the action cutout

I would think someone could braze or silver solder an appropriate sized extension onto your existing baffle.

The extension I added on the baffle of my 250Imp sporter attached with Brownells 44 solder. Originally the bolthead over shot the mag making loading a pain. Now I drop them in, press down and repeat as necessary. No fumbling around with fore and aft positioning.
