Seekins 20MOA Base help on Model 10 P-SR

FINALLY got my Seekins 20moa base and rings in today after a painstakingly long wait from vendor. I saw that screws are #6-40 at Seekins website. Is my Savage 10 P-SR threaded at a different pitch? They're not going in, and I don't want to put ANY force on the screw till I know for sure. Thanks for your help.

The threads should be 6-48.

Looks like I should try 6-48 screws. Now the fun of finding them locally. Might just call Seekins to get them.
