Fast(er) powders for the 250-3000

My 250-3000 Mauser '98 shoots the lights out with 100 BT's over Varget.
However that weight BT doesn't expand reliably for me at impact velocities.
It doesn't shoot any other projectile weight as well with Varget.

Has anyone had some good results with powders faster than Varget in the 250-3000 with 87 projectiles.

I like IMR 8208 XBR with 85grn TTSX. It' a "laser beam" in mine! :-)

Hey code4 from slowest to fastest, IMR4064, H4895, and H335. you would be better off using 748, H414, and H380. They all have the same burn rate are just a tad slower than Varget but are ball powders, so you can fit more in the case and get better velocity's without signs of pressure. I have got 3300 fps with my buddies worn out 5000+ round model 99 with those powders I was up to 40gr + You can throw CFE223 in the mix also.

IMR 4064 and H4895 has given me the best results in mine with 87-100gr bullets. R-17 has worked really well for me with the 115's as well.

Mines an AI version and shoots RL15 and 17 like those were designed for it.
