Water & oil based spray paint. Works well on deer skulls so I don't see why it wouldn't on a stock. A cheaper alternative to hydro-dipping, that's for sure.

That video is hypnotizing! Ive seen it done like this with borax in the water (I think) and testors model paint but never seen it with spraypaint. I don't see why it wouldn't work.

I have experimented with it on 2x4s. It is a good way to get that style of look. It appears the paint adheres well to the wood. I just decided I like cleaner lines on my camo paint jobs. But, practice a bit with it and you may be satisfied.

I guess you can't really control the lines and it kinda looks more 'cobbled together,' but some people prefer that look. I don't see why it wouldn't work on a rifle stock, I think it would definitely look good and I think it'd be easier than multiple coats of spray paint.

Definitely something I'd consider doing on some of my cheaper stocks just so I don't have to look at plain wood or black plastic anymore, haha.

Never dreamed it could be that simple.

I think it would be a great way to paint a stock.
