View Full Version : Range Results For Two New Low Cost Builds

Here are the targets from my initial range session with two new low cost hunting rifle builds.
.270 Winchester on a Savage action/barrel
.243 Winchester on a Marlin action/barrel

I built both of these and they both easily shoot sub .5 MOA, three shot groups. I put about 30 rounds through each rifle and they consistently shoot like this.

Why would I ever buy a high dollar custom rifle for hunting?

I'm about to find out. I put that long action in a B&C sporter stock, added a Timney trigger and now just need a base, rings and decent scope. Already working on the handloads using Hornady 208 AMAX and H1000.
