In the local gunshop today, guy had a stevens 200, .223 that had been put into a savage stock with a detachable mag/metal and steel trigger guard and the new soft recoil pad. It had a weaver bases and a junk scope with tasco $5 rings on it. I asked him how much without the scope and rings, he studied a minute and said $320 out the door. I paid him then and there, have it at home and just mounted some millet steel rings and a Nikon Monarch 4x12x44 UCC I had traded for last winter on it. I thought I got a pretty good buy, with the way prices are escalating. Oh yeah, I cleaned it out and it appears never to have been fired, still had the light coat of grease in the barrel, no blue wear on the rails, etc. I may try to shoot it when it cools down about dark, give you guys a range report. Also, do these guns have the 1-9 twist or slower?

well, it must be a day for good deals. You did good. I found one also today. I was in the gun shop and they were offering ten percent off on all guns. So I put a stevens 200 in .243 on layaway. Untill payday anyway. Got it for $278. Sweet deal I think.

Oh...post a pic when you can. :)
