Has anyone had any experience with these batteries because I'm getting ready to start a new project converting a .308 to 7.62x39 and have always like octagon barrels but I've not been able to find anything on these.

i have not but the add says R5 riffling and they are sure inexpensive for that but i guess for the price you could give one a go...the only problem i see is that if you have one chambered and it dont shoot your into it for about the same price as a nice prefit and are stuck with a worthless barrel...im a firm believer in you get what you pay for most of the time.

I see that but if I get a more expensive prefit I still have to have the gunsmith rechamber and cut the threads.
Now with this build I'll say I'm not building it to be a tack driver or a gun to shoot past 300yds but I don't want a shotgun pattern at 50yds either

pre-fits will come chambered and threaded for your action. just screw them on, headspace and go shooting.

X-Caliber chambers 7.62X39, for Savage prefit.

Np it seems like the X-caliber barrel may be the way to go anyways
