I have noticed in some pictures some of the 219 have what looks like little scope mounting grooves on top. Do they fit standard rimfire rings? I think I need one of these guns.

you got it, there for a scope mount. What caliber is the one pictured?

I would really like to find one in 22 hornet with those scope grooves. Have you seen any handy tricks for mounting scopes on the ones without grooves. I saw that article in precision shooting a couple months back where the writer built an epoxy pedestal, pretty shoddy looking I thought.
