Ok guys need some help. I'm building a savage that will have a heavy varmint 6.5 creed barrel. Will be using a Seekins Precision 20moa base. Should I get the Seekins low (.82) or the medium (.87) rings? The scope is a Vortex Viper PST 6x24x50 FFP.

Will also be using flip caps from vortex or butler creek.

Why not use a DNZ scope mount?

Dnz will work with just scope. But it's tight with the cap. At least it was on mine. I can get the cap on but it rubs the barrel. I have the same scope and a heavy model 12 22-250 with Dnz mounts. I used the vortex scope cap.

I have seekins lows on my Savage LRP with a Farrel 20 moa base. I really like the Seekins rings. Not sure the Burris rings work on the Seekins picatinny base and the DNZ only comes in medium and High..

I believe I used the Seekins medium rings with room to spare on my 110. KF 20 moa base & Viper PST w/ flip caps. Usually what I'll do if I'm not sure is just order both and then return the ones that I don't use.

Go with the Seekins .97" height to leave some room for the caps. The Seekins are excellent rings and will hold the scope very securely. Been using them since they were first made on my competitions rifles and never an issue.

Pretty much same exact question I had with same exact scope. The .87 will work. Just a heads up, SWFA has those Seekins Precision rings today for $89.

I sure hope you meant .87 Rob. I ordered those the second they went on sale at SWFA. I also got a Seekins 20 MOA base for a whopping $54. Now I can call and cancel my Vortex rings for $120.

Yup I fat fingered that one. Good grab with both rings and base.
