I am seriously considering purchasing the Savage MKII BSEV .22LR Target Rifle. I was ready to buy the CZ452 or CZ455 and I know they are very accurate rifles but I just love the looks of the BSEV and the Stainless Steel components. All my pistols and rifles are SS, it's a thing for me. If you have a BSEV can you tell me your thoughts on how the gun performs and what made you decide to purchase it?

Also, can anyone explain the SPIRAL FLUTED BARREL - Savage does not really say much about the purpose - design or functional? I hope someone responds very soon as I will probably make my decision this week.

::) Does no one have this model Savage? ???

I guess I will be the first to report on it then 'cause I ordered mine today along with two 10 shot mags and will have it in hand by early next week.

I will be on the firing line by next Thursday and then I will update this thread with pictures and hopefully some good target results.

;D

I'll be looking for that range report. Sure is a sharp looking rifle. I'll bet it's a shooter too.

Well I can't wait to match up my SWIFT scope with this Savage MKII BSEV so I played around with Paint Shop Pro and the sales info
from Savage Arms and here is what my new baby will look like:

Congrats on the rifle! I too will be awaiting the range report.. I'm glad to see savage expanding their line each year its deffinately reassuring. Although the stock really isn't my style its great to see something different. I'm sure your deffinately gonna have a shooter on your hands! After all it is Savage ;)

I finally found ONE place where someone uses a Savage BSEV - even though it is .17HMR caliber instead of the .22LR I ordered. He does not really talk about the BSEV because the subject of the video is TANNERITE EXPLODING TARGETS. You will see the Savage BSEV sitting on the right side stand with a bipod stand. He certainly had no difficulty LIGHTING UP those charges with his .17HMR 93R17 BSEV. If you have not seen this video you might want to check it out. Looks like great fun shooting if you are way out nowhere that you will not wake up the world with big KABOOMS!

I am going to start a new thread or series of threads titled AWESOME SAVAGE MKII BSEV in order to load up the pictures and AMMO TEST pictures. Look for these in this forum.

In the meantime - here is the real picture of my fantastic looking and shooting Savage MKII BSEV .22 Rifle.

The gunsmith at the local range where I did the Ammo Test said, "This is a Savage? Man, Savage is really going all out!"

PS- He has a Ruger 10/22 Custom Match Rifle worth over $2,000.00 but he may be getting something new soon!:

Bought a LH BTVLSS 22 LR at the end of May. Tack driver. My Dad wanted it as he has never shot a LH 22 before. Now is his plinker, gopher gun. I bought a 597 yellowjacket with the same stock. You could not tune it in anything better than a volley ball at 50 yds. The dealer gave me a credit and I bought the BSEV. I have it and it is a beautiful piece of work. The stock is extremely functional as I shoot RH & LH. I am putting a Vortex Crossfire 4-12 x 40 on and then its off to the range.
