I inherited two boxes of Hornady Super performance Match and a box of White tail Classic brass. I noticed the primers appear to be crimped like military ammunition. I sized the cases like I always do, swaged out the crimp on my Dillon swager and I still can't get a primer to seat in the cases.........WTF!? Any one else having the same problem with Hornady brass?

I inherited some hornady 223 brass during the big shortage a couple years ago. It was crimped also. I used my pocket reamer and didn't have trouble seating primers. I know thats probably not much help....lol

I've swaged hundreds of military 223, 308 and 30-06 on my Dillon swager and never once had a problem seating primers afterwards. I can't comprehend why Hornady felt the need to crimp primers in "match" brass?!

I use this on all my crimped 223,308,30-06 and it works great. I then put it in a socket and use a 3/8 to drill adapter and then use a cordless drill, you can't go to deep because it bottoms out where the primer rests at the base where the flash hole is.

For those wondering, it does not bevel out the whole primer pocket all this does is remove the "lip" or overlapping brass. And gives it a nice small bevel so it makes it easier to seat the primers. I have also found that this method does not expand the primer pocket the way a swager does,
I have one of those and I prefer my trim method.
