OK - just took my new Savage Mk II G to the local range for a break-in session yesterday. Started at 25 yds...shooting nice 6" groups with open sights...same at 50 yds. Elevation was close enough.
Only one problem...the groups are a good 4"-6" to the right of my POA at 50 yds. (I was shooting from a bench rest).
There is no immediately obvious way to adjust the sights for windage...the front sight appears to be one solid piece welded to the barrel, no dovetail to allow "drifting" to left or right. Am I missing something?
Ultimately I will be putting a scope on this one so the issue is not a "deal-breaker" but I would like to get her zeroed on the open sights before I mount the scope.
Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.
