Another new guy from N.Y. - pity me!

Greetings to all! I just joined the Savage community by virtue of my acquisition of a Mark II "G" and look forward to meeting fellow Savage enthusiasts. This is my third .22 rifle, the others being a Ruger 10/22 "Take Down" and a vintage Marlin 39A. I find myself drawn to the idea of a "tack driver" and hope that the advice of some of your Savage expertise can help me attain that objective!

BTW - the "pity me" comment concerns our NYS gun laws - hoping fervently that SCOTUS will overturn the monstrosity that is the unSAFE Act - Comrade Cuomo's contribution to the progressive state.

My advice would be to stay politically active and keep up the fight. If we let those who are against the 2nd amendment win in New York and New Jersey and other states, then it won't be long before they are successfully banning guns in gun friendly states. Please keep up the fight and welcome aboard.
